-
rebecca: do you always agree on everything? what about what you're going to have for dinner tonight?
-
Cass: This is something that we definatlyy don't all agree on because if we all had to eat Aces food we'll all be eating pigeon and I'm a vegitarian and so is Skin
-
Ace: Tonight I am going to have crumpets with dairy lee spread and pesto and pasta sauce because thats all I've got in my fridge.

-
Skin: Yeah, we loved it.
-
cat: who is len arran? a good friend who helps you out with the lyrics? i've been seeing this name on every album and i have been wondering for some time now.
-
Skin: Len Arran used to be in a band with Cass and Myself, an early incarnation of Skunk Anansie. He then opted out of being in a band as it wasnt his thing but I have continued to write with him to this day.
-
Dave: What would you say to any teenagers male/female who want to be rock singers?
-
Ace: The world is your oyster!!!!!
-
Skin: Go do it!
-
Raymond cheung: what has been the scariest moment of your career??
-
Cass: When Mark nearly decapitated a member of the audience with his cymbal stand
-
Ace: It was in a little plane in windy weather landing in Leeds, rushing to a show after playing TOTP and we thought we were all going to die because the plane landed sideways and bounced twice.
-
FRANCA: SKIN I WANT TO KNOW (IF POSSIBLE)WHATH IS YOUR POLITICAL POSITION?I HOPE IN AN ANSWER.BYE(I LOVE YOU)
-
Skin: I have many strong view points on many issues, but I'm not quite sure which one your asking about! Thank you for your Luurve sista!
-
Marleen Birkhoff: What's your favorite band besides yourself??, by the way the V.I.P. weekend in London was great. I hope you all had some fun too!
-
Cass: For me Rage Against the Machine
-
Mark: At the moment Ultrasound
-
Ace: At the moment Sans Secours, an Austrian band and Millenianova, who are Munich based duo and also I like the new Reef album.
-
Skin: For me it's the Flaming Lips at the moment but that's until Radiohead come out with their new album. I also love Travis.
-
Chris Thorne: Was secretly personal to any member of the band and who came up with the concept for the video?
-
Mark: The ideas for the video were a mixture between ourselves and Giuseppe Capatondi and yes it was
-
Costanza: Skin,is it difficult to feel your songs every time you sing them in the great way you do it?Love,Co
-
Skin: No it's not difficult to feel the songs because the lyrics are so close to me, but I must admit that there are times when I am so tired and numb and nothing comes to me when I sing the songs.
-
ct: who's gonna support you on the autumn tour? p.s. thanks for a blindin' gig at the sound republic last month - remember me? i was the guy at the front in the silverchair tshirt you kept staring at!
-
Cass: We may be touring with a band called sevendust from America who are absolutly incredible
-
Mark: The truth is we don't know yet but we are still open to bribes
-
cat: to c.a.m.: do you ever feel that skin is getting all the attention? if yes, does this bother you?
-
Cass: Skin is always getting all the attention and no it doesn't bother us
-
Katri: When are you coming back to Finland?....and i liked to say that i like your music....it¥s fucking great!
-
Mark: Hopefully soon but there are no plans as of yet. We enjoyed immensly the Provinnsirock festival. Kiitos
-
cat: do you think that it's a matter of will to get over someone? or a matter of time?
-
Cass: It takes both
-
Mark: Time!
-
Skin: THAT DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT OF PAIN THEY CAUSED YOU, BUT I WOULD SAY THAT TIME IS THE GREATEST HEALER EVEN IF IT QUITE A CLICHE!
-
richard dee: Is there a particular reason why both 'every bitch but me' and 'the skank heads' both have the same opening lines?
-
Skin: Yes, Every bitch but me was only good enough to be a B-side but I always thought that was a waste of a great first line so I STOLE IT!
-
melanie: hello. this is my first time trying out a webchat. is it your first time? do you like the web? i'm a bit new to it all so it's a bit weird! cool, though
-
Mark: One question at a time please
-
Ace: No this isn't the first time but it's good because you can be cheeky and not fear the other person punching you!
-
Richard Branson: If you ran an airline, what would you do to make flying more fun?
-
Cass: Live entertainment, musicians, comedians etc
-
Mark: Invent teleportation system
-
Ace: Free tickets for rock bands! Only joking! Live gigs in a club on the plane with no bouncers! Long baths and finally seances because the reception is better because we're closer to heaven! Aren't you supposed to be working!
-
Skin: Access to the internet, bigger TV screens as I always feel like I'm going crosseyed! Showers, electric power so that I can plug shit in, a mini recording studio for really long flights, Air Stewards that are allowed to drink, a better colour scheme, a lounge with sofa type chairs that you can really relax and have a chat and lastly decent manicure as there're always crap! Are you really his smiley godliness!
-
Dani: has skin experienced much homophobia in the music industry?
-
Skin: Yes, the music industry is supposed to be really 'cool' but really it's just like any other massive industry. Underneath it all the business is seriously conservative.
-
carl: i would like to know whether skin still gets bored with people thinking she's really violent just 'cos the way she looks.
-
Skin: Yes.
-
ct: what's the best thing you've ever nicked?
-
Mark: Nothing I'm an angel haha ha
-
Ace: We're too honest for that!
-
Skin: That question assumes that I've been a thief which I haven't.
-
Yvonne Lewis: I would like to know if you will be releasing a video of one of your concerts in the near future as I live in Spain and a bit pissed off that I am unable to see you live. Anyway have a good one at Glastonbury and show them all what a real band sounds like.
-
Cass: You won;t have to buy a video because we'll be there in October/November time
-
Peter: Why did you take the swearing out of the latest single. It wasn't even that bad.
-
Mark: Because there are certain things you cannot say on radio, unfortunatly
-
cream_egg: the video for the charlie big potato was absolutely mind blowing - who did it and how did they make it look as if skin was lying down? did yas enjoy making it?
-
Cass: The video was made by Giuseppe Capatondi and the effect was created by a (a) complex arrangement of mirrors
(b) pully system incorparating the use of fishing line
(c) long ski's on Skins feet that enabled her to balence at ridiculous angles
-
walt: do you guys ever check out any skunk anansie fan pages on the web?
-
Cass: all the time, updating our own web page with photos, stories and tales of the road!
-
Mark: Yeah when we get the chance.
-
Skin: Yes , I regulary look up our web page and all the unofficial pages to see what their up to! The funny thing is that if you mis-spell our name there are thousands more sites!
-
John Grimsey: I saw you at the london forum aaaageeees ago, supporting senser. how did you feel coming off the stage then, and how do you feel coming of the stage now? do you still buzz or has a routine set in?
-
Cass: That was a great tour. And I think it very hard, actually, to go on stage and not buzz of it. When that day comes it's time to give up.
-
Mark: I'm always buzzing, when I come off.
-
Lans: Skin, when are you going to let your hair grow out?
-
Skin: When I feel like it!
-
LOUISE ARMSTRONG: why don't you guys smile in your promo shoots??
-
Cass: i always smile, you just haven't seen the right shots!
-
Mark: because we have no teeth...
-
Ace: Because by the time they've set up and are ready to shoot, we're all bored!
-
Andrew: so guys, how did you feel about rod stewart covering weak?!
-
Cass: i love uncle rod!
-
Mark: snore
-
freddie: what's your favourite country you've travelled to and why?
-
Cass: Italy, because of food, culture, language and my girlfriend's italian as well...
-
Mark: italy. It's all our favourite country.
-
Ace: Australia, for beaches and swimming and lots of partying!
-
Marius Raknes: I know u all are passionate about your trainers! What are your favourite ones??
-
Mark: original nikes - i'm wearing at the moment.
-
Ace: Nike, Acupunture and Addidas!
-
Skin: At the moment Reebok BMX c'os ther're really bouncy for stage!
-
Jane: Do you take to heart the critics views on your music? Don't you find it irritating the way the same critic contradicts him/herself, for example in Kerrang they called 'Charlie...' best single of the week, but then when Secretly was released they said it was 'a great improvement on the rubbish Charlie...'?
-
Cass: consequently that means no, we don't read our press.
-
Mark: i don't read our press. I read everything around it and avoid what's written about us, if you always read good stuff about yourself it goes to your head. if you always read bad stuff, it's depressing.
-
lucy: what's tbe best part of playing on stage? skin - when you go wild it's amazing - did it take courage to go wild like that or did you just always go off on one lik that?
-
Skin: The singing and the travelling. The wildness is just my vibe when I lose myself in the music.
-
Evil Burger Boy: Have any of you found God, yet?
-
Cass: He lives with my mum.
-
Mark: Dear me, no.
-
Ace: Yeah, he's in my spare room! Well he tells me he's God!
-
cat: have you started wrting songs for the 4th album? i hope it doesn't take as long as P.O.C. did.
-
Cass: nope, but we're definitely thinking about it already.
-
Skin: We have little ideas brewing in our heads!
-
Marius Raknes: Well, Hi again! Another question from me: What are your views on playing completely different setlists on a tour?? Doing more b-sides and stuff, 'cos your b-sides are also GREAT! Cheers again, Marius
-
Mark: it gets more difficult the bigger your show gets because everything is cued and relies on everything else to be the same. however, if we scale down the show and take it into a small venue, then we'll change the set around to keep it interesting
-
hang on a sec! had to break for pictures. Hopefully there'll be time for a few more in a mo...
-
Dr Atomic: Before you go on the telly you must have someone to do your make-up. Do you bother to have someone come in and do just Mark's hair?
-
Mark: no, i always do it myself. skin has a makeup artist and we steal her sometimes depending on how rough the night before was!
-
Jon: Tell Me! How many Skunk Anansie fans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
-
Cass: none. we function off of daylight.
-
Ace: One, you just put it in and turn.
-
Skin: A flyover.
-
walt: have you ever seen each other naked?
-
Cass: walt, you poor sick puppy!
-
Mark: no!
-
Rasta: whats your most creative time of the day
-
Cass: from 3 am in the morning onwards. it's my favourite time of day, actually, cos it's quiet and everyone's asleep. like the energy at that time of night, it's nice.
-
Mark: for me probably evening, to midnight, from about five pm until midnight and then i get too tired and want a drink!
-
Ace: 3.00pm because I'm not tired from getting up and not tired from being up too long!
-
Regan: Which films have you seen four times or more?
-
Cass: Pulp Fiction, Enter The Dragon, Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels and Snake In Eagle's Shadow
-
Mark: Withnail and I, Santa Claus the Movie, and The Exorcist. There's a nice mixture for you.
-
Ace: Velvet Goldmine, Enter The dragon and the Exorcist!
-
Skin: The Last Seduction, Nikita, Saturday Night fever.
-
808state: millennium music - dance music or rock music - discuss....;-)
-
Cass: that'll do
-
Mark: a mixture of the two - a hybrid i think. constantly developing and entwining.
-
Ace: Dance music now rocks and rock music is now dance orientated so a heathy fusion is about to come, i.e. Chemical Brothers. By the way I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
-
Skin: I'm looking forward to the days when we don't divide ourselves so much! but we're definately getting our arses kicked right now!!!!!
-
slimey: i like it that you update your site yourselves - who had the idea to do this?
-
Cass: we did. we being the royal we incorporating everybody who was involved!
-
Mark: we did.
-
lucy: how difficult is it to go touring together - do you argue and what happens when you do? whats the best part of touring? and the worst?
-
Cass: and sleeping on a bus.
-
Mark: it's not difficult, it's easy, because we're good friends. we don't argue because it gets sorted out before we get to the level of an argument. the best part of touring is seeing loads of different places. and the worst part is not being in Italy enough
-
catherine: would you ever sacrofice your career for something? what would be that?
-
Cass: family
-
Mark: my family or my health.
-
dougie wilson: i was recently at the s.c.a.m gig in glasgow and noticed a few cameras was that only for promo use or is there a chance it maybe out on video. If not will there be a live video out soon.As you sound brilliant live and would love to have a vid with you guys on it
-
Mark: we're doing a documentary by the same guy who directed Charlie Big Potato and Secretly and it's coming out in August sometime on Channel 4.
-
Jane: In an interview you said that you'd just all had tattoos done, which tattoos do each of you have?
-
Cass: i've got three tattoos, a polynesian/egyptian on one shoulder, a red indian symbol on the other, and a yin and yang with the i-ching on my back.
-
Mark: i have a couple of tribal ones, a skunk and an m in case i forget my name.
-
Ace: My latest is a chinese symbol for spirt and I have a few hidden love tattoos which you have to see me naked to see!!!!!!
-
Skin: I have no Tattoos.
-
Andrew Don: Skin, Cass and Ace: where did you get your nick-names from?
-
Cass: Mine came from school. From fighting too much.
-
Skin: Skin is short for skinny c'os I'm skinny!
-
cat: do you intent doing something like this again? meaning, bring online for your fans.
-
Cass: Yeah, course. We've done it before.
-
Mark: And we'll do it again
-
Skin: Yes it's fun!
-
Andrew Manson: Cas, Mark, Ace: did you have lessons to learn your instruments or did you teach yourselves, coz like, i'm trying to teach myself the guitar, so Ace, what's the best way of doing it??
-
Cass: I'm completely self-taught.
-
Mark: Yeah, I've taught myself for 25 years apart from 1984 when i had lessons.
-
Mark: What do you think of the manic street preachers?
-
Cass: They're alright.
-
Mark: I love them. And have all their albums.
-
Dani: do you ever think how much your lyrics are touching other people's lives?
-
Mark: Not really. If you worried about everybody you'd end up like some tortured artist.
-
Skin: I practice detachment therefore I can't take on the woes of the whole world but I do love it when people understand what the songs are about!
-
walt: yo ace, luv the new "fuzz" on your chin. does it itch?
-
Cass: he shaved it off cos we told him he looked old with it
-
Mark: he shaved it off cos he looked crap.
-
Ace: Me! No! but it's a great inner thigh tickler!
