Lush Lene Marlin is set to storm the world with her unique brand of
folk-pop all the way from Norway's tiny city of Tromsø, far above
the Arctic Circle. Check this: her incredibly catchy debut single Unforgiveable
Sinner sold 40,000 copies in her home country in just 24 hours.
For a country with only 4 million people that's pretty staggering. Having
won the Norwegian 'Grammy' for Best Song Of The Year, Japan, Denmark,
Sweden, Italy and now, the UK, are going ape-shit about Lene's distinct
Nordic sound.
Lene's rise to fame was partly lucky coincidence. Although she's spent
all her life writing songs on a guitar in her bedroom, she never thought
she'd get the opportunity to make a proper album. It was only when a
friend shoved her into a local radio station that Lene was discovered
by a music journalist who happened to pass by. He called his mate at
Virgin and the rest, as they tend to say, is history.
