"spineless jelly"

-weak willed person- term used for Pinn periodically

"vit"

-local thai restaurateur providing finest noodles in north london

"dead skin cells"

-the old studio was so small before the rebuild-it could never be cleaned without taking the studio apart- two years of personal flaking and the room became known as the room of dead skin cells-Pinn used to say 'I'm getting up my nose' Yage would say 'chop me out a line of you'

"elaborate burn"

-not as suggested some reference to wartime burn mutilation-quite simply being burnt or ripped off in business -only persons on the inside can acheive an elaborate burn however

"vertical pig"

-initially a book started in the mid eighties by Pinn this refers to experiments conducted with transplanting pigs hearts into humans' bodies -a man sustained life with full faculty for twelve days and three hours he became known as the vertical pig

"little brother"

-all the studio work and fast food resulted in yage's little brother being born

"eggshell"

- ''i'm sick of tip-toeing on the eggshells that surround you' pinn spluttered to yage referring to his increasingly eggshell ego -'inside the fragile eggshell mind'

"bird wings"

-the mikes were set up under the pigeon's nest outside the studio door-the pigeons were inert in the cosy heat -josh with the dreads threw a fag packet at them and suddenly they sprang into life-yage immediately fed it through the machines -pitching it into an awesome swooosh of flapping wings

"among myselves"

-another failed explanation by yage -he wasn't unduly concerned-he looked up 'i'll keep it among myselves '
