Chile Of The Bass Generation
Chile

at this point we'd split and had two separate studios - yage felt depleted after the messy ending of Stakker and hadn't written much but decided he wanted to mix a track i was working on-this featured a load of rare grooves minced into bad form-it was an insecure time- everyone was skint -i remember yages flat mate coming back loaded from a club-we were working away- he strutted in (he was an arrogant fucker - the typical late eighties glamour seeker - he alternated between stylist, artist, curator depending on which day it was) 'no-one at the club i've just been to would dance to this-its wa- aaay too slow' we lost interest after that and only re corded it onto a tape so we could hear it in the kitchen while hunched over the stove' a year later we decided it was genius and pressed it from a cassette copy-and months later while doing a rare dj outing saw only one person dance to it -a mad affro in seventies garb suddenly appeared from nowhere -sprinting into the yawning space before us shouting "i love this track' flinging his arms wildly and laughing maniacally-that dude was sent by god
